I took a class with Elle and the focus was the fundamentals of embrodery. She was patient, clear and fun! I loved the class. I had never done anything like that and I really enjoyed my time in the class. She is a gem, a true artist and teacher. I am confident she thrives in whatever she is creating and getting into. Elle is the best!
Elle led our high school sewing and upcycling class with thoughtfulness, structure, and deep care for young people. What began as a pilot offering quickly became the most requested class from our partner school, a testament to the way students felt seen, capable, and creatively activated in her space.
Elle approaches teaching as both skill-building and confidence-building. She creates an environment where experimentation is welcomed, mistakes are part of the learning process, and students are encouraged to express their individuality through craft. Her curriculum is organized and accessible, yet expansive enough to allow students to take ownership of their ideas and designs.
What stands out most is her ability to cultivate trust with youth. She holds high expectations while remaining patient and grounded, guiding students toward technical proficiency without losing sight of joy and self-expression. She's the best!
I had the opportunity hire Elle as a sewing and upcycling instructor for our weeklong family camp program. She is knowledgeable and patient, and she creates an inclusive environment where students feel confident learning new skills. Her classes are well organized, engaging, and accessible for beginners while still inspiring creativity. One thing that stood out about Elle’s teaching was her ability to meet each participant exactly where they were, whether they were threading a needle for the first time or refining advanced techniques, and guide them with care, clarity, and encouragement. I would highly recommend her for any teaching opportunity.
ElleRali is super fun to work with! I took a week long upcycling work shop with her and transformed a beloved but falling apart jacket into a beloved and extra fly vest with colorful crossstitched sleeves! My daughter also took this workshop and ElleRali was able to teach multiple levels and abilities in the same class and challenge each student just the right amount. Super fun- highly recommend!!! ❤️😺🦊
I had so much fun in Elle’s upcycle class at family camp. I brought a favorite denim chambray shirt which I figured would only be good for cutting. Not so! Elle showed me how to alter it so it fits AND incorporates batiks for flair. Now I look at my clothes as opportunities for personalizing instead of too-small disappointments.
